What Is The Kanebridge
Drill-Down?

Simply put, the "Drill-Down" is one of the three methods for locating the item(s) that distributors seek while logged onto Kanebridge’s e-commerce site, FasNet™. It is a hierarchical data structure that organizes all of Kanebridge’s 43,000+ items. It groups every product line that Kanebridge sells from general to more specific categories. This enables any distributor to locate the precise item they want in a matter of moments.

Where Do I Find This on Your Website?

When a customer logs into our "Customer Area" with a 4-digit PIN-code, they click on the first menu item listed "Search our 43,000 Items" (Example #1). This brings you to our "FasNet™ Product Listing" page where you can search for items in any of three ways: 1) Search by Keyword, 2) Search by Item Number, or 3) Selecting any of the 16 main product categories listed on the left side of this webpage (what we are referring to as the "Drill-Down" system).

How Does It Work?

Let’s Use An Example:

1. If we are searching for Steel Pan Phillips Machine Screws with Black Zinc finish, we click on the primary category "Screws". (Example #2)
2. This results in a new page listing 21 general categories of screws, listed alphabetically. We select "Machine". (Example #3)
3. Under "Machine" we see 16 different head styles of Machine Screws (Two additional options are also available: "Metric" and "Military-Spec" in case we are searching for a Machine Screw in one of those specific product areas). Here, we select "Pan". (Example #4, A)
4. Within the "Pan" head category are the six drive styles available; we select "Phillips". (Example #4, B)
5. We have now reached—or drilled down to—the final level of our search where we see the ten different materials and finishes available for Pan Phillips Machine Screws. We select "Steel Zinc Black" (Example #4, C) and we can review the 147 sizes of screws to find the one we want.
